Over/Under Pass
2-Part Advanced Lesson -- Bernardo emphasizes several important details for his Over/Under-Pass in nogi: Attach your bodyweight to your opponent's hips by driving your shoulder onto their belly while anchoring yourself around their legs with your arms; use your elbow to help straighten out their bottom leg so that you can clear enough space for you to slide forward into a Side-Control. [0:44] Take advantage of what little fabric you have available by specifically placing your hands flat against your opponent's shorts (but do not grab onto the material with your fingers); this will help you keep close to your opponent long enough to work towards the pass. Counterintuitively, walk your feet towards your opponent's legs rather than directly away from them. Doing so will help you make room to jump your far leg passed their guard as well as help mitigate their ability to recover via hip-escape.
