Master Fabio Gurgel implements a constraint-based live-sparring round in order to better integrate Over-Hook skills: Have one partner start on top in a kneeling position with one arm inserted as an Under-Hook; complement their position by assuming an Over-Hook with a Butterfly-Hook inserted on that same side. The top player must try to progress forward and pass his opponent's Butterfly-Guard (Half-Butterfly, Butterfly-Half, Broken-Butterfly, Lazy-Butterfly, et al.) while the bottom guard-player needs to find an attack with the Over-Hook (e.g. Hook-Sweep, Triangle, Omoplata, Monoplata, Spiral-Armbar, et al.).
