Far Side Overhook Armbar from Side Control, Kimura from Side Control
2 Part Technique - While holding the Side Control and hunting for a submission, your opponent may not drape his arm over your far shoulder, which would yield the normal Farside Armbar. Instead, he could place it over your nearside shoulder, closer to his head, giving you the option to still attack for the Farside Armbar, but with an Overhook rather than an Underhook. Spin toward North South, holding the Overhook with a grip on your own lapel, and rock him up onto his side to reveal the space along his back for your shin to go. Sit back, laying your other leg across his face, and finish the armlock with the appropriate body mechanics as discussed in previous lessons. An alternative result can be made from this Farside Overhook by securing a Kimura when his arm fall off of your shoulder. Keep his arm held tightly to your chest, and bent at a ninety degree angle as you bring it across his body for the tap.
