2 Part Technique - Hand Fighting from Butterfly is a matter of avoiding your opponent's grips onto your legs and seizing grips of your own to off-balance him and get the sweep. Retract your feet if see him reach for them and when the time is right, take his collar and elbow for the Hook Sweep. If he posts his leg out to stop it, take advantage of the opening he created beneath his base and dive under his leg to the X-Guard. The X-Guard is fantastic against large, heavy opponents because you can easily manipulate their balance while avoiding the burden of bearing weight while you do so. Stretch his legs wide and kick out his posting leg with the Unbalance Sweep. If he completely avoids letting you grab his hands altogether, grasp both of his collars and launch him skyward with the Hook Lift. Before he lands back down to the mat in his previous kneeling position, catch him in the X-Guard. If his far arm is close enough to grab, take it and dump him on his shoulder with the X-Guard Sweep.
