One-Armed Shoulder Throw, Near Side Armbar from Knee on Belly
Marcelo applies a standing handed throw directly into a submission: Classified as a hand-technique or te-waza in the sport of Judo, the Ippon-Seoinage or One-Arm Shoulder-Throw is a technique that primarily derives its working mechanics with the actioning of your hips. Starting from Collar-&-Sleeve Grips, pull yourself into a back-step and upper-cut their contralateral triceps. Importantly, make sufficient contact with your lower-back against your opponent's center-of-mass; failure to do so will oftentimes reinforce a counter-torque that will bleed out your leverage. After your partner correctly performs a break-fall, maintain control over their sleeve to keep their arm in extension while you rest your knee across their arm-pit and prepare to land into a seated-armlock. Find control over your opponent's wrist to prevent rotation and raise your hips behind their elbow while caging their head with your leg for the finish.
