3 Part Technique - Defending the guard pass from butterfly doesn't just end with recovering your guard; you must also address the removal of whichever grips your opponent used to attack. Whether against a Circle Pass or the onset of Knee-On-Belly, shove your opponent back with the Foot Wipe Escape; if his grip doesn't break from kicking his chest, follow his hands with yours and yank off his control. If your foot is blocked from coming across for the wipe, wedge your knee across his hip to gain distance and extend yourself away as you break his grip, sit up, and push him off. If he crosses with a Knee Slide Pass, implement your Cross Knee to recover your guard.
