2 Part Lesson — Paul explains the Elbow-Escape and the Hip-Escape from Mount: [I] Combine a frame with your elbow and a wedge with your knee to slip your leg out from underneath your opponent's mount. Block the Crossface as you turn to the Half Guard; recover your opposite knee with the ¾-Guard to bring yourself back to offensive options. [II] When the opponent's knee is heavy, create space between his legs with a hip-escape; now you have the room to bring in either Butterfly Hook to recover at least the Half Guard from the bottom position.
