Marcelo reverses his opponent despite their intial defensive maneuver: If your opponent is keen on stopping you from bumping them off of their top positioning in the Full-Mount, they may be ready to quickly pummel against your attempts to capture their arm towards one side. However, your opponent is unlikely to be prepared for a counter against seizure over their opposite posted arm; before your opponent has a chance to stabilize their base, quickly switch from your initial grip against their arm to one side and go to their other arm. Suck their elbow into your chest using both hands gripping on top of their forearm and swiftly hunt for a trap against their same-side ankle. Bridge hard over your shoulder, looking towards the mat as you raise your hips and spin onto your knees. Control your opponent's biceps inside their Closed-Guard until you are ready to perform a Standing Guard-Break. Push off of your opponent's stomach while jumping or stepping up onto both feet as you lean backwards into an upright posture. Press your palm against the inside of your opponent's knee to uncross their feet and force them into an Open-Guard scenario. Drive your outside-knee over the top of their thigh and allow your opposite-leg to follow behind your cut through their guard. Establish a chest-on-chest connection and seek stablizing grips such as Under-Hook & Head-Control once you've passed your opponent's legs.
