Guillotine-Choke from Butterfly-Guard
Marcelo, Orlando, and Estilo talk about the pros and cons of alternate grip variations for the Guillotine Choke: Despite the advantages of finding a chance to switch your control from the Seatbelt-Grip to an Inverted Gable-Grip (Pretzel-Grip; Prayer Choke, Mckenzitine, Punch/Fist-Choke, et al.), Marcelo insists on keeping things simple and direct when finishing against his opponent's neck with the Guillotine. Securing the position for the finish is normally a matter of keeping your opponent close, by pulling them towards your center-line (e.g. capturing Half-Guard on bottom to prevent a bail-out). Making a grip-switch may give your opponent a chance to attack your hands while they are in transition, therefore stifling your efforts. As long as your opponent taps, it doesn't make much difference as to whether your grip was inverted or not.
