2 Part Technique - In this self-defense lesson, Henrique teaches how to counter two types of punches by closing the distance, and taking the fight to the ground. If your opponent throws an overhand right, block the sucker punch as you step toward him, and pummel for an overhook and underhook. Use the Over Under Control from Standing to determine whether you should step behind and trip backward, or step in front and execute a hip throw. After the hip throw, transition from Knee-On-Belly to the Mount, and let him spin underneath to capture the Rear Naked Choke. If your opponent is a more technical striker, parry his jab to the inside as you lower your level and secure Double Under Control. While still holding your grip, spin behind him to the Back Body Lock, and then trip him to the ground where you can mount and finish with an armbar.
