3 Part Technique - It's best to avoid having to counter a leglock when it's set deeply; this can be accomplished by keeping vigil over the position of your feet from Open Guard. If your opponent is looking to grab them, immediately hide them from his grasp by forming hooks. If he falls back with your foot, turn your heel up to slip out from under his armpit. If he crosses your foot as he falls back, try slipping, but quickly look to climb up and hold him close when it doesn't work. Begin to dismantle his leg control over your hip, and rise to the top position. If he falls back for the Straight Anklelock and his upper body is out of reach, skip to the hand fight and fiercely unwrap his control over your legs to get on top.
