2 Part Technique - Control at the opponent's elbow, press away while extending your arm, and sit up quickly with posture to counter his stacking pass. Posturing immediately will prevent the opponent from circling around. If the opponent holds your legs, use his control against him. Turn your hips and throw the opponent, but he will generally post to counter. Stand up and escape out, because the opponent's weight will be rested on his hands.

@jrpuopolo Yeah getting that elbow push thing down alone will completely elevate someone's cross side escapes it makes you miserable to hold down. Just one of many reasons marcelo is an all-time great practitioner and instructor.

these escapes are unreal, I saw them on this site awhile back and they instantly changed my strategy for escaping cross side. Every thing worked just like marcelo showed. Awesome

Truly one of the greatest jiu-jitsu players of all-time! Thanks to you Marcelo, I keep trying to find new aspects and I only wish I could emulate my jits game to be like yours. Your way of teaching is a constant reminder to me that technique vs size or strength will always be the winner!

Thank you!
