Granby Roll Escape vs Back Bodylock → Back Escape
2 Part Lesson — Marcelo safely defends against the Back Bodylock: [I] Immediately hold your opponent's wrist to prevent him from climbing up to Seatbelt Control and drop your hips down as if sitting onto a chair. This posturing prevents the potential for your opponent to pick you up for a suplex or to crumple your legs by jumping onto your knees. If his grip is strong and doesn't break after you sit down, perform a Granby Roll back to your guard. [II] If your opponent begins placing his hooks inside to claim the Back Mount, drive both of your shoulders to the mat above his lock around your waist to escape the position.
